Entrepreneur: Dr Gladys Kalema-Zikusoka – one of Uganda’s leading wildlife vets.
Its vision: To encourage a joined up approach to wildlife conservation and human public health. CTPH is working tirelessly to protect endangered mountain gorillas in Bwindi National Park in southwestern Uganda. The organisation wants to reduce the risk of gorillas falling prey to human ailments and also offer local people access to better healthcare and educational programmes.
Notable achievements: Dr Gladys Kalema-Zikusoka has received a number of awards for her environmental and humanitarian work. In 2009, she won the Whitley Gold Award for her conservation work. Dr Kalema-Zikusoka is also an Ashoka Fellow.
